Do you people think its hypocritical to be an American patriot, but be completely against our government?

Our nation is well known for committing acts of pure evil on more than many occasions. But is it wrong to say that without the things our country has done, our nation wouldn't be as powerful? I don't condone any of it, I too was revolutionary and believe that we the people need to fix the problems within our corrupt government. But where do we draw the line between ignorance and appreciation in the fact that we are Americans. Regardless of anything else.
