Why should I befriend a bully?

I remember when I was 10 (5 years ago) I had a bully in school who would pick on me and get his friends to pick on me as well. Each day in school was filled with humiliation and anger. So why would this bully try to be my friend now, yet show his disapproval of my quiet personality by constantly bugging me about it. I will NOT do what others want, I am NOT a puppet.
