What is the general outcome for enlisted navy men?

So i recently enlisted into the United States Navy as a CTI. Although, i am proud of my decision i find myself having second thoughts about the decision frequently. These insecurities come about when i see ex navy men who seem to be financially unstable/ unsuccessful in life. Also the sense of disapproval i get from an army officer when i tell them i have enlisted (not a bias against the navy). Why is there so many ex sailors who are struggling financially? Why do so many choose not to reenlist?
